Editor, The Bulletin;
I have heard several people say that the new dog park isn’t getting much use. I live on the west side of Ward Pond facing the park and I can always see how many vehicles are at the park.
It is very well used; even on cold winter days a few people would give their dogs a quick run. An example is every Sunday morning there are at least nine vehicles there at one time, after work, seven to 10 at once. During the day there are between two and at least six vehicles there. And the odd time there is no one there.
During the course of any day there are about 25-30 people giving their dogs some much needed exercise. It is well used and I’m sure it is greatly appreciated by people and dogs. I read in the Brooks Bulletin that the City of Brooks is fundraising to add amenities to the dog park including benches, paths, concrete pad under the shelter that was donated by the South Country Co-op and agility equipment.
I hope that the people that regularly use this park will kindly make a donation toward the wish list if they are able.
