Youth still missing
Brooks RCMP are continuing to seek information on the whereabouts of Summer Faith Taypotat.
The 16-year-old was last seen on March 16 at about 11:30 p.m. at her home.
“She’s still missing and extensive efforts are being made to locate her,” said Brooks RCMP Cpl. Sharon McCready.
She has medium length light brown hair, is 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 136 pounds.
She was last seen wearing green pants and a grey sweater.
If anyone has information they are encouraged to contact the RCMP at 403-794-4400.
Loitering couple
connected to thefts
Brooks RCMP have received multiple reports of a male and female who have been loitering in local parking lots asking people for money.
Police say the couple has been seen in the Walmart and NoFrills lots.
They are driving a grey Ford Edge with Quebec licence plate P70YNN.
Police are urging the public if they see the vehicle to immediately report it to police but do not attempt to stop the vehicle.
Hwy. 1 and RR 150 collision
On March 21 at about 4:30 p.m. a vehicle that was unable to navigate a turn at the JBS Food intersection at Highway 1 and Range Road 150, T-boned a stopped vehicle.
Brooks RCMP reported that two people were transported by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
Man disobeys
court order
On March 22 at 12:35 a.m. RCMP responded to an intoxicated male who was stumbling and falling.
Police later located and arrested the man for public intoxication when they saw him stumbling in the middle of Sutherland Drive East.
It was later learned that the man was on conditions not to consume an excessive amount of alcohol.
He was released from custody and is to appear in court.
Impaired driving
On March 22 while police were on a routine patrol, they saw a vehicle that was travelling at a high rate of speed.
The driver of a Ford Explorer made a sudden left turn from a red light into a field off 2nd Street West when police conducted a traffic stop.
Police say the driver was intoxicated but he refused to provide a sample of his breath.
His vehicle was towed, he was handed a 90-day driving suspension and fine of $1,200.

RCMP were kept busy on Wednesday with multiple collisions and vehicles that hit the ditch due to snow and icy highway conditions.
Collision near Bassano
On March 20 at 10:22 a.m. Brooks RCMP responded to collision on Hwy. 1 near Bassano.
When police arrived they saw that one transport truck was in the ditch, another had stopped in the right hand lane and a third vehicle that had been travelling east attempted to stop, however, due to the icy roads the vehicle clipped the side of the transport truck causing a rip in the rear passenger door.
There were no injuries.
Residential B&E
On March 20 at 8:58 p.m. RCMP responded to a report of a Parkland Way home being broken into while the residents were at work.
The back window and door were broken. The house was left a mess and so far it has been determined that money and jewellery are missing.
Frozen pizzas hit the road
Just before noon last Tuesday a five ton semi rolled over on Highway 1 near Township Road 211A and spilled a load of frozen pizza.
The driver was transported to hospital and treated for his injuries.
The truck blocked both eastbound lanes and the road was closed for a period of time while the area was cleaned up and the vehicle was removed.
Second and Second collision
Last Tuesday at about 7:55 p.m. a pair of vehicles collided at 2nd Street West and 2nd Ave.
Police report that a Cadillac had run the red light at 2nd Street and hit a Nissan on the driver side.
The Nissan collided with a light pole that fell on the vehicle.
Tickets were issued to the driver of the Cadillac.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to hospital and was treated for injuries.
