Wutzke – Barbara ‘Babs’ Gail Wutzke, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend, passed away peacefully on November 16th, 2023 at the age 75 years. Babs was born in Lethbridge to Mary and William (Bill) Bender on August 16th, 1948. She will be remembered with love by her husband Harold of 55 years; her son Christopher (Soey), her daughter Angela De Blasio, five grandchildren; Alexander, Keegan, August, Roman and Lucia as well as many special nieces and nephews; her brother Dean (Ruth) Bender. Babs was predeceased by her parents, 4 brothers; Robert, Jim, Marvin, Jack and sister; Alberta. Babs grew up in the Brooks area. On March 23rd, 1968 she married the love of her life Harold George Wutzke. They raised their family on a farm east of Brooks in the One-Tree area until they moved into Brooks in 2014. Babs worked in and out of the home throughout the years doing things from banking to baling. She was also an integral part of the farm and machinery dealership operations, with no job too big or small for her. She truly was someone that could and would do anything for anyone. Harold and Babs retired in 2011, spending their winters in Yuma AZ. Babs loved quilting, dancing, and taking care of her garden, however, she was truly in her element when she was travelling the world or hosting friends and family. A special thank you to all the staff at Sunrise Gardens and Homecare, her doctors and nurses as well as the amazing caregivers that came to her home. The genuine compassion, care and love she received is so appreciated. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24th at 2:00 PM from the Brooks United Church. Rev. Janice Whitelock officiating. Interment at Brooks Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Heritage Inn and Convention Centre.
