Wutzke – Mary Adele Wutzke of Brooks, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on June 4, 2007. Adele was born on June 20, 1922 in Millicent, Alberta, eldest daughter of Raymond and Elsie Nugent. She received her schooling in Haig district south of Bow Island, it was there she met and married the love of her life Ernest Henry Wutzke. In the early years they lived several different places, until they settled and farmed in the Bow Island and Burdett areas.
In the 70’s they split their time between Medicine Hat and Brooks. Adele settled in Brooks after Ernie’s passing in 1984. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lois (Maurice) Longpre; sons Richard (Marilyn), Patrick (Bernadette), Harold (Barbara), Philip, and Douglas (Bettina); grandchildren Adena (Brian) Skanderup, Shirley (Ronan) Moen, Paul Wutzke, Serena Wutzke, Gail (Cory) Oleksyn, Duane Wutzke (Regan), Chris Wutzke (Kris), Angela (Jamie) De Blasio, Clinton Wutzke (Christine), Nathan Wutzke, Megan Wutzke (Ben), Mathew Wutzke, Jason Longpre, Ryan Longpre (Kim), Spencer Longpre, Dan Wutzke, Adam Wutzke, Joshua Wutzke; 13 great grandchildren; 2 siblings, brother, Leo Nugent (Maxine), Elsie Wintonyk and numerous nieces and nephews. Adele was predeceased her husband Ernie, son David, great grandchildren, Drew and Ashton Moen, and Kyla Wutzke, parents, and brother-in-law Walter Wintonyk. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 7 from Trinity Lutheran Church, Brooks. Rev. John Theiss and Rev. David Glawe officiated. Active Pallbearers were Chris Wutzke, Duane Wutzke, Paul Wutzke, Nathan Wutzke, Jason Longpre and Daniel Wutzke.
