WILLMS, Edwin Peter
1939 – 2018
It is with great sadness that a beautiful man has left us. Ed passed on Saturday, September 8, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He will be dearly missed by lots of friends and family. He is survived by his wife Linda and was predeceased by his first wife Penny. He leaves behind his daughters Wendy (John) Butkiewicz and Coralie (Jeff) Grimsdale; step-daughters Lori (Marlina) Staz and Holly (Trevor) Balderston; grandchildren Scott, Rebecca, Tytus and Maizy Butkiewicz, Halee and Tyren Grimsdale; and step-grandchildren Ethan Staz, Emma and Megan Balderston. Ed also leaves behind his brothers John LaVaun, Art (Karen), Herb (Gloria), Willie (Del), Victor (Karen) and Peter (Sarah) Peters; sisters Elinor and Katie (Peter) Krauss and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Sara and father John (Katharina) Willms. Ed was born in Coaldale, AB on February 11, 1939. Ed was known as Fast Eddie and the Energizer Bunny by his friends at an early age and was still called that in the end. He founded Scandia Fields Honey and was one of the largest and most successful bee keepers in Canada. Ed was very successful throughout his entire life. He travelled to many places, but his two favorite places were Mazatlán, Mexico and Kaslo, British Columbia where he spent his winters and summers. He loved to golf, fish, music and dancing. Ed lived life to its fullest. He was larger than life and you knew when Ed walked into a room as the whole room lit up. He will be terribly missed by people from all over the world.
