Williamson – It is with great sadness that we, the family of Lloyd Williamson, say goodbye. Lloyd was born on July 23, 1921 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He passed away peacefully in the Brooks Health Center on July 26, 2007. He started school at Lone Star in 1928 and finished his schooling at First Chance (Badger Lake).
He served in World War II in the Artillery and Signal Corps from 1942 to 1945. Lloyd started farming in the Turin District with his brother Stan in 1947. After he sold out, he bought the Pete Thompson farm and later purchased land from Drinkwater and Metcalf in the Lomond area. He married Stella Henrickson on March 16, 1960 and resided east of Lomond. In 1987, Lloyd and Stella retired to Brooks. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Stella, sister Betty Koch, brothers Stan and Jack, brother in law Fred Mitten, niece Sharon Harder, nephews Allan Koch and Rodney Williamson, stepson Leroy Henrickson and stepdaughter Della Balog. Lloyd is survived by Earl (Hazel) Williamson, (Quesnel) Millie (Jim) Frewin, (Calgary) Edna Mitten,(Kamloops) sister in laws Kathleen Williamson(Brooks) and Hazel Williamson,(Lethbridge), many nieces and nephews, stepson Marvin (Helene) Hendrickson, grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Graveside services were held at 3:30 PM on Monday July 30 from the Lomond Cemetery, Lomond, Alberta. Rev. George Edmonds of the Brooks United Church officiated.
