Willard – Della Elaine Willard of Brooks, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 at the age of 79 years. Della was born in Olds, Alberta on February 27th, 1945 to Fred and Lena Wombold, the youngest out of 4. The Wombold family moved to Duchess when Della was 5, she attended the Duchess school, graduating in 1963. She married Dannie Willard of Duchess and had 3 children, Denise, Darcy and Daniel. The family lived in Calgary, a few years before Della and her children moved back to Brooks. in September of 1980. Della had various jobs over the years, before deciding at the age of 50, to go back to school at Bow Valley College in Calgary, where she obtained a Business Administration Certificate. Della went on to work for a few years at a UPS office at the Calgary Airport. Della’s retirement years were spent back in Brooks closer to her children and grandchildren. Della is survived by her children, Denise Aman, Darcy Willard and Daniel (Cindy) Willard; grandchildren, Christopher (Tracy), Meghan (Chris), Brynn, Tiffany (Spencer), Teddy-Lena (Desmond) and Stanley (Loretta); two great grandchildren, Kate (Charlie) and Skyla; two sisters-in-law, Doreen and Joan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, all her siblings and her son-in-law Rob. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a kind lady, who loved to smile, drink coffee, visit and play cards. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 25th at 2:00 PM from Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Maggie Theiss and Rev. John Theiss officiating. Interment followed at Brooks Cemetery.
