WILKIE – James Findlay Carnegie Wilkie, of Brooks passed away in Brooks on January 27th, 2005 at the wonderful age of 94 years. Jim worked for many years as a guard for the Brooks RCMP and was truly proud of this association. He was also an avid Rodeo fan, was instrumental in setting up and being part of the Coleman Rodeo in 1948 and had many longtime friends associated with this sport. Jim was also a long standing member of the Brooks Masonic Lodge. He was predeceased by his wife Edna, youngest son Neil and brothers Fetus and Ron. Jim leaves behind his son Jim, and Don and their families, many wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister-in-law Jessie, numerous nieces and nephews who aptly named him their favorite Uncle and innumerable friends throughout the Province. Jim was so very proud of his Scottish heritage and equally proud to be a Canadian. All friends and relatives are invited to a graveside service at 1:00 PM from the Brooks Cemetery on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2005. Reverend Ken Wells of St. Alban’s Anglican Church officiating. People are of two kinds,
And he was the kind I’d like to be
Never lied to a friend or foe,
Never rash in word or deed.
Quick to come and slow to go
    In neighbors’ time of need.
Never rose to wealth or fame
    Simply lived and simply died
But the passing of his name
Left a sorrow far and wide.
Now may the warming love of friends
    Surround you as you go,
Down a path of love and laughter
    Where happy memories grow.
