    Wiebe – Mrs. Alameda Selma Wiebe of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Nicholas Wiebe, passed away in Brooks on Monday, April 27th, 2015 at the age of 97 years. Alameda was born on November 13th, 1917 in Loyalist, Alberta to Willemeda and Anton Dofher. They lived there until the first part of October, 1922 before moving to Cluny in the spring of 1923. In October, 1930 Alameda’s family moved to Wanham, Alberta. Alameda went back to Cluny in August, 1937 to visit friends and got a job working for Mrs. Sietz. In February 1938, they hired Nick Wiebe, who Alameda married on February 14th, 1939 and had 3 children, Weldon on August 9th, 1940, Shirley on September 23rd, 1943 and Norman on December 12th, 1944. They moved to Brooks on September 1st, 1951 and Alameda moved into the Newbrook Lodge on September 2nd, 2004 and had resided there since. She is predeceased by her husband Nick on October 12th, 1974, her daughter Shirley on November 23rd, 2005 and son Norman on April 13th, 2015. She is survived by her son Weldon and his wife Joan of Crowsnest Pass, Alberta and daughter-in-law Pat Wiebe and other family members. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6th at 1:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Mr. Jim Ramsay officiating. Interment to be held at Brooks Cemetery.
