Wiebe – Larry Wiebe of Rosemary, Alberta passed away on October 17th, 2024 at the Medicine Hat Hospital at the age of 79. He was born on July 31st, 1945 in Bassano, Alberta to Jacob and Elizabeth Wiebe. He was the oldest of 6 children. He attended Rosemary School and then went to Three Hills Bible College. Larry farmed for several years. He met and married Vivian in 1973. After farming, Larry had various jobs working as a parts man at Brooks Farm Equipment, a potato caregiver at Old Dutch, selling real estate, and driving bus. He also was active in the community with 4-H, town council and the Ag Society. Larry later retired to enjoy gardening, wood working, camping, and joining the Rosemary coffee crew every morning. Larry is survived by his wife, Vivian; daughters, Debbie (Dean) Thomas and Darla; two grandchildren – Ally (Adam) Barnett and Simon (Jenna) Thomas, and two great grandchildren – Luna and Mason. He is also survived by his mother – Elizabeth and his two sisters – Dianne Porisky and Brenda (Gord) Leland, sister-in-law Marjorie Wiebe as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Donald, his father Jacob, brother Gord and sisters, Sherry and Darlene. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Newell Foodgrains Bank or a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held at the Rosemary Mennonite Church on Friday, October 25th, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Josh Mueller officiating. Interment at Rosemary Cemetery.
