    WHITE – William Robert “Rob” White 1955-2022

    Rob White passed away suddenly at his home in Pattya, Thailand on November 29, 2022.
    He was born, raised and received his schooling in Brooks before moving to Calgary, where he attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, graduating from the Petroleum Technology program.
    Rob worked as a well supervisor for several years at many drilling sites in Alberta and Saskatchewan and eventually moved to Thailand in 1988. He continued working in the international oil and gas industry supervising the drilling of wells in several countries, but mostly in Sudan.
    Rob excelled at sports during his school days, maintained a long lasting interest in bands, concerts and music in general and still had a number of friends living in Brooks and area. During his many years in Thailand he married a Thai woman and informally adopted her young daughter, Ningnan, and embraced much of the Thai culture including learning the Thai language.
    Rob was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Wanda White of Brooks and his wife Dawrung of Pattaya, Thailand and is survived by his brother Tait, sister-in-law Mary, and nephew James all of Brooks, his niece Sheena of Calgary and an estranged daughter, Paige of Maui, Hawaii.
