    Weinmeyer – Garry (Gabriel) Joseph Weinmeyer, beloved husband of Theresa Weinmeyer, passed away suddenly at his home in Duchess on September 5th, 2006 at the age of 65 years. Garry was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan on March 18th, 1941. After returning from the Navy in 1965 he was employed with the Town of Brooks as Water and Sewer Foreman. He and Theresa Flahr were married on July 30th, 1966 in their hometown of Luseland, Saskatchewan. Garry did various jobs until November of 1978 when he became the Duchess Town Foreman, a job he held until his death. Garry was one of a kind, he treated everyone with kindness and respect and could hold a conversation with anyone of any age. He had many interests which included watching kids of all ages play sports especially hockey, cheering his Oilers on and quiet evenings in his back yard with a bon fire and his dogs Kutter and Grisson at his side and his love of music. His passion in life was his family especially his grandchildren, his dogs and his work. He was predeceased by his grandparents, his parents Joe and Regina, an infant sister and his mother and father-in-law Barbara and Dave Flahr. He is survived by his loving family, wife Theresa, five children Sharon (Rod) Wojcicki of Brooks, Monica (Darcy) Lebo of Calgary, Shane (Tamara) Weinmeyer of Calgary, Kim (Matt) Davis of Brooks and Sandi (Calvin) Prior of Brooks; grandchildren Emily Rose Davis, Cole Hanson Weinmeyer, Owen Gabriel George Prior and Wyatt James Davis; father Nick German; brothers George, Lucien and Herb; sisters Loretta Seifeldt, Caroline Raymond, Gloria Hill, Loranne German and many other relatives and friends among them his special young friend Tanner Fischer. Prayer services were held at 7:30 PM on Monday, September 11th from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brooks. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 AM from St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 12^th . Rev. Father Vincent Tuan Ha Celebrant. Honorary Pallbearers were his grandchildren Emily, Cole, Owen and Wyatt. Honorary Pallbearers were Ken McKnight, Tom Livingston, Fred Gardner, Ewald Rutschmann, Peter Tse, Jan Hrouda, Sandy Bartman and Mike Diehl. Pallbearers were Dan Lovsin, Dennis Endersby, Dan Endersby, Gary Gillis, Dale Shantz and Jim Lauber. Interment followed at Duchess Cemetery. In memory of Garry, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Duchess Ag Society for either the Hockey Arena or the Anniversary Park, Box 385, Duchess, Alberta T0J 0Z0.
