    Loren Arthur Weber passed away in Medicine Hat, Alberta, on August 19, 2004 at the age of 75 years. He leaves to cherish his memory numerous friends and his loving family, son Larry and his wife Carolyn and their children Eric, Benjamin and Zachary of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and son Mark and his wife Joanna and their children Soren and Anselm of Sarasota, Florida. Born April 3, 1929 to Doris and Carl Weber at Edgerton, Ohio, Loren was the sixth of nine surviving children. Loren was raised on the family farm three miles southwest of Edgerton in Defiance County, sharing in the chores and farm work until leaving home in 1949. After attending a rural school south of home, Loren went on attend school in Edgerton and graduated from High School in 1948. Loren and his family attended the Evangelical Church in Edgerton until 1945, and then joined the Community Bible Church in Butler, Indiana in 1946. Accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior during revival meetings in February 1944, Loren was baptized along with several brothers and sisters on April 22, 1945 at the Fort Wayne Gospel Temple. Loren enrolled in Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1949, graduating in 1953. He then worked for the Iowa Rural Bible Crusade, where he met his future wife, Marjorie Ann Murra (b. December 16, 1933; d. March 4, 2001) while they taught Vacation Bible School together in Charles City, Iowa. Loren and Marjorie were married on April 10, 1955 in the First Baptist Church of Buffalo Center, Iowa. They have two sons: Larry Alan, born on February 21, 1959, and Mark Eugene, born on September 26, 1960, both born in Rapid City, South Dakota. In September of 1955, Loren enrolled in the North American Baptist Seminary, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He graduated in May 1958 with a Bachelor of Divinity Degree, and was ordained into the ministry on August 4, 1958 at First Baptist Church, Buffalo Center, Iowa. Loren pastored the following churches: South Canyon Baptist Church, Rapid City, South Dakota (1958-1962); Isabel Baptist Church, Isabel, South Dakota (1962-1965); First Baptist Church, Arnprior, Ontario (1966-1972); Nepean Baptist Church, Ottawa, Ontario (1972-1975); First Baptist Church, Bellwood, Illinois (1975-1981); Temple Baptist Church, Medicine Hat, Alberta (1982-1987); and Brooks Baptist Church, Brooks, Alberta (1988-1994). Loren retired in May of 1994. The funeral service was held in Temple Baptist Church (606 7th Street SW, Medicine Hat) on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Robert Findley officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
