Wallace – Taylor (Tart) Wallace of Gleichen, beloved husband of Ada, passed away peacefully in Strathmore on April 21st, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Born in Burfield, Alberta on October 17th, 1920 Tart received his education in Connersville School. His family later lived and farmed in the Gem area. Tart and Ada Evans were married in Calgary on December 16th, 1953 and resided in Gem. They moved to Gleichen in 1958 where they have resided since. Tart loved his family, hunting, playing cards, camping and most of all going to rodeos. He will be remembered for the love he had for children, his teasing and his twinkle in his eye. Tart was predeceased by his son Jack, granddaughter Laura, twin sister Jean and a brother Neil. He is survived by his wife Ada of Gleichen; daughter Sharon Schaffer and her husband Jerry of Bassano; daughter-in-law Shelley Wallace of Calgary; mother-in-law Sybil Wilson of Brooks; 5 grandchildren Glenda Schaffer, Allan Schaffer, Darryl Wallace, David Wallace and Rochelle Wallace; 4 siblings Betty McKenzie of Hanna, Will Wallace of Gem, Nan (Bob) Marsh of Lady Smith, BC and Ann (Derald) Willow of Edmonton and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 2:00 PM from Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano. Rev. Peter Baek officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Tart’s family and friends.
