    Hugh Lorne Wallace – born June 27th, 1930 at Castor, Alberta, passed away June 25th, 2004. The youngest of three children of Hugh and Gladys Wallace, Lorne took his formal schooling at Success and Ideal Valley schools. He worked the family farm, before being employed by Scarle Grain, and a 32 year career with Alberta Gas Trunkline, and Nova Corporation. Lorne was predeceased by his parents, as well as his brother Ian, and sister, Margaret. At the time of his passing Lorne is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Verna (nee Kenny) Wallace as well as three sons: Ken (Audrey), Murray and Ric (Trish), seven grandsons: Shaune (Courtney), Trevor (Erin), Devin, Spencer, Sterling, Tyler, Liam, and one great granddaughter, Ally May. Lorne is fondly remembered for his love of the outdoors, the many hunting, fishing and camping adventures and the inevitable stories that would follow. He loved, and lived for his family which he enjoyed immensely. His commitment to family and career were always of primary focus, and his ability to lend a helping hand was a gift that will be sorely missed. Lorne is also remembered for his community involvement with numerous service clubs, and community organizations that he served so well. He was respected and loved by all that knew him for his easy going nature, quiet demeanor, and his ability to enjoy what life had to offer. The Funeral Service was held in CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, Medicine Hat Stake Centre, 7 Saamis Rotary Way SW, Medicine Hat, on Tuesday, June 29th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Wayne Schlenker, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation, 124 – 430 – 6th Avenue SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 2S8, or to the Charity of One’s Choice.
