    Walker – Dorothy Olive May Walker of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Ronald Walker, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at the age of 88 years. Dorothy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 18th, 1927 to James and Violet Emslie. She moved to Brooks with her family shortly after, her family being one of the first settlers of the Brooks area. Dorothy married Ronald Walker on October 18th, 1946 and they resided in Brooks, where they raised their 4 children, Donald, Melanie, Sheila and Julie. She worked at the TransCanada Restaurant, Newell Hotel and the Greyhound Station. Dorothy enjoyed playing Yahtzee, cards and Bingo. She also enjoyed reading books, ceramics and camping with family and friends. Dorothy was a lifetime member of the EID Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy will be remembered for how much she enjoyed life, playing poker with friends and family and the enjoyment she received from her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald Walker, daughter Melanie Erb, granddaughter Trena Walker, great granddaughter Kyra Ann Bailey, brother Melvin Emslie and her parents James and Violet Emslie. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Don Walker and his wife Penny of Coaldale, Alberta, Sheila Duxbury and her husband Wayne of Brooks and Julie Turnbull and her husband Gary of Brooks; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren, and her life long friend Bertha Bentz. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28th at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. Daniel Peters officiating. . Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Dorothy’s Great and Great Great Grandchildren. Active Pallbearer will be Bill Turnbull, Lonny Duxbury, Kevin Duxbury, Tracey Sorensen, Ronald Thiessen, and Lee Thiessen. Interment to follow at the Brooks Cemetery.
