Angelina Walker
1933– 2022
Mrs. Angelina Magdalina Walker (Torscher) of Brooks Alberta, beloved wife of the late Mr. Robert (Bob) Walker passed away peacefully in the Brooks Health Centre on September 21, 2022, at the age of 89 years.
Angelina was born on January 17, 1933, in Burdett Alberta. Ann as many knew her as, was raised on the family farm in Burdett Alberta and went to school in Bow Island. In 1962 she moved to Lethbridge, Alberta. On December 27, 1971, she married her true love, Robert Walker. Ann was an active member of the Moose Lodge for many years, she was also a member of the Vasa Lodge along with her husband Bob Walker. In Ann’s free time she enjoyed Carpet Bowling and playing Cribbage with her friends at the Lethbridge Senior Centre. She also was a part of the Southern Alberta 55 plus summer Olympic Games through the Lethbridge Senior Centre.
Besides her loving husband Robert Walker, Ann is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eva Torscher; all her siblings, Katherine, Mike and Francis; 2 brother in laws, Coy, Peter and Johnny Walker; sister-in-law, Mirium Torscher; 3 son in law’s, Wesley McKenzie, Philip Myles and Lloyd Johnson; 2 grandsons, Gerald Myles and Nicolas Lagrandeur and 2 granddaughters, Lindsay Melafont and Amber Caldwell.
Ann is survived by her children, Patricia McKenzie of Brooks, AB, Richard Lanz (Debbie) of Grand Folks BC, Stanley Walker (Rosie) of Stoney Creek, ONT, Arlene Thuroo (Bill) of Spruce Grove, AB, Roberta Myles of Pincher Creek, AB, Glenna (Lou) of Cardston, AB, Marlene Livingston (Glynn) of Pincher Creek, AB, Marie Melafont (Bill) of Lethbridge, AB, Harold Walker (Marla) of Fruitvale, BC, Ed Walker (Mel) of Pincher Creek, AB, Tom Walker (Susan) of Pincher Creek, AB. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann will be missed terribly but she will live on in all of our hearts and the people who knew her.
The family would like to thank all the staff and Residents of Brooks Newbrook Lodge where Ann lived from 2012 till the end of October 2021. We would also like to send a huge Thank you to the Staff and Residents of unit C in the Brooks Hospital Long term. The nurses and staff made the last year of Ann’s life very special.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Inurnment to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Unit C (Long term) at the Brooks Health Centre 440-3rd Street East Bag 300 Brooks Alberta T1R 1B3 in name of Angelina Walker.
Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
