Virostek – Lorraine Martha Virostek, beloved wife of Ray Virostek of Tilley, passed away peacefully in Brooks on December 11th, 2002 at the age of 42 years. Born in Brooks on April 1st, 1960 she received her education in Tilley.
Lorraine and Ray were married in Medicine Hat on October 17th, 1981 and resided in the Tilley area. She was very involved in and supportive of all community functions. Lorraine loved her family, friends, young people and her many animals. She will be remembered for always putting others ahead of herself she was a true unsung hero to many.
Lorraine was predeceased by her mother Helen Schnieder and father-in-law Fred Verostek. Besides her loving husband Ray, she is survived by her loving family, daughter Ralaina and son Derek both of Tilley; father Doug Schnieder of Tilley; brother Tyrone (Kelly) Schnieder of Medicine Hat; sister Cathy (Bob) Justinick of Turner Valley; mother-in-law Mary Verostek of Brooks; sister-in-law Carol (Geoff) Ramalho of Ontario; 2 nephews, Ryan Phillips and Michael Schnieder; 3 nieces, Ashley Schnieder and Michelle and Candace Ramalho.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 16th, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. John Theiss officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Lorraine’s family and friends. Active Pallbearers were Ryan Phillips, Maurice Phillips, Michael Schnieder, Stephen Skanderup, John Butkiewicz and Hans Jensen. Interment followed at Brooks Cemetery.
