    Summerbell – With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sharon Summerbell, beloved wife, mother & grandma who passed away unexpectedly at home after a courageous 4 year battle with pulmonary hypertension and cancer, at the age of 65.

    Born September 22, 1955 in Didsbury Alberta to Ken & Vi  Janzen . Sharon attended school in Calgary and Nanaimo BC.  Sharon worked in retail most of her working years, she loved working with people, the hardest part for her when she got sick was not being able to work any longer. Sharon loved spending time with John in Banff and any other trips they took.

    She is survived by her loving husband John, her two sons Robbie (Shannon) and Tony (Shannon) and 6 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother in law Isobel, 2 brothers, numerous family members, and close friends that became her family.

    Her family would like to thank Cindy Young, Lindsay Schuett, Dr. C Harris, Dr Weatherald and Dr. Imbulgoda and all the nurses and healthcare professionals that provided such great care to Sharon over the past few years.

    Due to Covid restrictions, a small private family service will be held. A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date. If friends desire donations can be made on her behalf to the University of Calgary Memo Alberta Pulmonary Hypertension research fund Account # 10025798 care of Dr. Jason Weatherald Peter Lougheed Center 3500-26 Ave. N.E Calgary, Ab T1Y 6J4.
