STURCH – Gary William Sturch sadly and unexpectedly was taken from us on June 10th, 2024, in Bassano Alberta at the age of 80 years old.
Born in Vancouver on November 11, 1943, he enjoyed an idyllic childhood of fishing, collecting coins and investing in houses.
While still in Vancouver, as a young ambitious man, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and eventually found his way out to Brooks where he established his accounting practice. Although he will be remembered as a dedicated professional to his clients in their business affairs, he will equally be known as a prankster who was uniquely able to bring levity to any situation.
Gary retired to Bassano in 2002 and began a new chapter of his life. People will always remember Gary for his diverse interests and his ability to freely converse on a broad range of topics as well as his charity, integrity and his love for his children.
Gary is survived by his sister Dianne and her husband Bill and his other sister Sherri; his six children Rebecca, Derrick, Kenneth, Braden, Calen and Rhiannon; and his nine grandchildren Karl, Aiden, Olive, Elias, Kenneth, Jacklyn, Jayna, Anikka and Andrius.
