Stewart – Ruby Beth Stewart of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Cyril Stewart, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan on September 10th, 1926 to David and Mary Brown, Ruby received her education at St. Joseph’s Convent in Rosetown. After graduation, Ruby worked as a Loans Officer for 4 years for the Royal Bank. She married Cyril Stewart on August 3rd, 1949 and resided in Rosetown, until moving to Brooks in October, 1974. While in Brooks Ruby worked in the laundry department at the Brooks Health Centre. She enjoyed playing Bingo, doing puzzles, having coffee with the girls, visiting her grandchildren and driving around in the convertible. Grandma Ruby, for all that knew her, will be remembered for her smile and charm. She was predeceased by her husband Cyril on April 19th, 1999. Ruby is survived by her loving family, daughter Cheryl Romuld and her husband Duane of Brooks; grandson Darrell (Sarah) Romuld and granddaughter Kelly (Nathan) Sanford and 3 great grandsons Alex, Lucas and Hunter Sanford. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28th at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Theiss officiating. Interment at Brooks Cemetery, Field of Honour. In memory of Ruby, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to ELKS – Fund for Children, Box 1274, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1C1.
