In loving memory of Robby James Steptoe, who passed away peacefully at his home in West Pender St., Vancouver, B.C., Saturday, August 30th of 2014 at age 46 years.
Robby was born in Moosomin, Sask. July 27, 1968. He came to Brooks, AB. in 1969 with parents Roy and Lil and one sister Connie. Later gaining another brother Marc and sister Jackie.
He attended his schooling in Brooks and at age 17 years old, left his home in Brooks which his journey lead him to Vancouver, B.C. There he met new friends and a new family at his place of residence. He enjoyed art, poem writing and listening to music and mainly visiting with people. He would phone home often and would always say to me just checking in Mom… tell me a few jokes and talk about his day. Always leaving with hugs and kisses for his families. Robby was a real people person always caring and helping when needed.
Robby was predeceased by his father Roy and cousin Wendy Steptoe, both grandparents Sid and Mary Steptoe and Jim and Muriel Gibson.
He is survived by his mother Lil Steptoe and friend Albert, one bother Marc (Robin) of Cochrane, AB. Two sisters Connie (Justin) of Brooks, AB. and Jackie (Joe) of Brooks, four nephews and one niece and numerous cousins.
Many, many thanks to his friends and caregivers and staff in Vancouver, B.C. Also thanks to Julie and Cindy and many others at the St. Peter’s Centre in Vancouver who gave their support and care for Robby.
He will be deeply missed by all. A memorial service will be held on October 4th, 2014 at 1 pm. Luncheon will take place at Brooks Legion.
