Steinbach – Frances Josephine Steinbach, beloved wife of Pete Steinbach of Bassano, passed away in Bassano on October 19th, 2005 at the age of 64 years. Born in Bassano on April 21st, 1941, Frances had resided in the area all her life. Frances and Pete were married in Bassano on November 21st, 1960 and farmed in the area. She had been very active in the 4H and a member of the Bassano Kinnettes. Frances will be lovingly remembered for her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, for her strength of character and for her wit. She was predeceased by her son Franklin Peter Steinbach on August 8th, 1962; her father Frank King on November 25th, 1965 and a brother Joe King on May 30th, 1991. She is survived by her loving family, husband Pete; daughters Mildred Massie and her husband Kerry, Kristine Huggard and her husband Larry, Josephine Steinbach, Patricia Volb and her husband Andrew and Stephanie Kemp and her husband Brett all of Bassano; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her mother Mildred King of Bassano; 2 sisters Mary Lou Moss of Bassano and Nola Czerniak of Cochrane and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 25th from Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano. Rev Ian Gagne officiated. Pallbearers were Gail Kelly, Pat Block, Gail Lewis, Carol Secondiak, Karen Clark, Jeanne Hood and Betty-Jo Bergen. Interment followed at Bassano Cemetery.
