SOLBERG – James Andrew Solberg of Sunnynook, Alberta passed away suddenly Sunday, December 26, 2004. Jim was predeceased by his father Kermit Solberg and is survived by his son Michael, daughter Rhea-Anne, mother Dorothy, sister Anne, niece Sarah, friend Chris and family. Jim was born September 28, 1949 in Hanna, Alberta. He took his schooling at Square Deal and Cessford. He was active in the community and loved sports, playing hockey, baseball, curling, marksmanship and martial arts. Jim attended Montana State University, in Bozeman, Montana attaining a degree in Range Management. Jim was a rancher who loved the land and took pride in his knowledge of the native plants. As well as being a rancher Jim was very active in rodeo, competing in bareback and bullriding. He was a well loved character who always had a houseful and loved to have people around. Jim took great pride in his children and was a great friend to many people. He will be missed. A memorial service for Jim was held Monday, January 3, 2005 at the Silver Sage Arena in Brooks with arrangements entrusted to Personal Alternative.
