Smith – Eric Wilmore Smith of Brooks, beloved husband of Shirley Braak, passed away peacefully on Monday August 17th, 2015 in Brooks at the age of 82 years. Born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland on April 21st, 1933, Eric has lived in Brooks for the last 5 years, prior to that he lived in BC for 30 years. Eric worked at the Salvation Army, Union Gospel Mission and Hakai Lodge as a Chef which he loved. He is predeceased by first wife Louise; son Terry; grandson Tony; parents Caleb and Edith Smith; brothers, Ronald, Beaton, Cyril, Jack, and Milton; sisters, Mary, Doris, Eileen, Annie, Grace, Vera, Jane and Mabel. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Shirley; children Tony (Velma), Tim (Carol), Jackie (Greg), Blair, Trudy (Harry), Todd; daughter-in-law Maxine; step-daughters, Marilyn and Denise; brother-in-law Lawrence (Maureen); brothers, Robert (Ann), and Edward (Helen); sisters, Viola, Rose, and Daphne and many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly, a large number of nieces, nephews and extended family, and many friends here in Brooks and in BC. A huge thanks to the amazing staff at the Brooks Hospital. A special thanks to all the incredible nurses that got to know him and all the laughs they both had with each other. Thank you ….
