Edith Viola Sitler (Sorensen)
March 13, 1935 – August 27th, 2023
It is with great sorrow and thanksgiving for a life well lived that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Edith, at the age of 88. She passed away with her daughters at her side after a long battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Glenn, her son, Tim, her parents, Lilli and Ingeman Sorensen, sister Ruth and brother Gordon. She leaves her daughters, Ellen (Aroon) and Gaylene (Will), “adopted son”Jeff (Jody), sister Doris, brother Carl and many family and friends to mourn her passing and cherish her memory.
Mom lived a life full of treasured times with family and friends. She shared 58 years with the love of her life, Glenn, before his passing in 2017. She had a huge circle of friends and travelled extensively.
Mom lived with an unwavering commitment to her Christian faith and church community and always extended love to others. She will long be remembered for her involvement in every church endeavour that arose, most especially the choir that she directed for 37 years, and for her warm and welcoming hospitality to her home. There was always room for one more! Mom loved her family, her church, her flower gardens, singing, devotions, reading, baking pies, scrapbooking, needlepoint and time with friends and family. She always had a smile and a loving hug to offer. The world is a better place because of Mom’s time in it and we give God thanks for her life.
