Scott – Gordon Alvin Scott of Brooks, beloved husband of the late Myra Scott, passed away at Sunrise Gardens on December 22nd, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Gordon was born on January 21st, 1927 at Moose Ridge, Alberta, he was the second eldest of twelve children in the John and Ethel Scott family. Gordon married Myra Margaret Henderson Gill on November 5th, 1951. Over the years, they resided in Drumheller, Pine Lake, Tilley and Brooks and raised five children. Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife, Myra in 1989; son, Brian in 2010; brothers Allan Scott and Malcolm Scott; and sisters Norma Lutz, Faye Snarud, Shirley Kitler, and Rita Reid. Gordon is survived by daughter Linda (Larry) Regner, son Ken (Dolores) Scott, daughter-in-law Sandra Scott, daughter Brenda (Mark) Cooley, son Doug (Karen) Scott; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; siblings, Ron Scott, Harvey Scott, Raymond Scott, Fraser Scott and April Batula and numerous nieces and nephews. A private Celebration of Life will be held on January 4th, 2017 with Rev. John Theiss officiating. In memory of Gordon, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society, 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 9Z9 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, #204, 2323 – 32nd Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 6Z3.
