Eulogy as given by Jacquie Davidson: Bonnie Ann Scott, Aug. 22, 1962 – Nov. 4, 2003. Bonnie Scott was the essence of compassion, happiness, and contentment. Today is our chance to say thank you for the way you brightened our lives. Bonnie leaves to mourn her loving husband Larry Scott of 13 years, her dear son Tanner and dear daughter Danielle. Survived by her father Roy Tumback and special friend Del of Brooks, AB; her brother Bruce Tumback and his wife Cynthia, nieces Alexandra and Katie and nephew Thomas of Calgary; her grandmother Irene Davidson of Brooks, her father-in-law George Scott. Her mother, Aileen Johnson predeceased her in 1991. Bonnie’s education spans all over the country, and even overseas. She started her education in Medicine Hat, taking courses in early Childhood Education. Then she transferred to the University of Lethbridge. While in Lethbridge, Bonnie decided to attend the University of Sorbonne in Paris, France where she learned to speak French fluently. To help with her finances while in Paris she was a part-time nanny and in her spare time took in the sites and experiences of Europe. Larry took time off his work to visit her in Europe and together they travelled the countryside. When she returned to Canada she enrolled at the University of Alberta in Edmonton to obtain her degree in Education with a major in French. She also spent time in Quebec to immerse herself in the French Canadian culture. All through Bonnie’s travels and education, she and Larry remained together, bonded by love. They were married on July 28, 1990 in Brooks, Alberta surrounded by their friends and family. She taught school for three years before starting a family. Tanner was born in 1993 and Danielle in 1996. When Bonnie moved to Marsden, she instantly settled into her farming community. She loved the outdoors, her yard, canning her garden, harvest and generally puttering around. In Marsden she found a sense of community where she developed many deep, meaningful friendships. Bonnie was a woman who gave us all so much. It was in friendship and conversation that she added so much value to our lives. She was a delight to be around because her joy for life transmitted wherever she took her smile and her laughter. Above all, she loved her family. Her children were the lights of her life and her life revolved around them. She participated in all their activities at school, the hockey, gymnastics, swimming lessons, soccer and ball. She was also taking guitar lessons and enjoyed many hours at home creating crafts and building Lego with her children. She was busy building birdhouses and always encouraged her children to invent their own crafts and nurtured their creativity. Bonnie’s life was her passion and she found it by following her gift of intuition and living her life to the fullest and would not have traded it for all the riches in the world. Bonnie and Larry had built a life she loved. She always had a strong direction and conviction, whether it was going off to Paris for a year, achieving a teaching degree or moving to the farm. She knew what she wanted and proceeded to do it to the best of her ability. She had joy in her life. We give thanks for the life of a woman we are so proud of. We love you and will miss you.
