Schouten – Steve Rolf Schouten, beloved husband of Ruth of Brooks, passed away suddenly on March 18th, 2009, in Brooks. Steve’s career with ATCO allowed him to create numerous friends from far and near. Steve was a man who emitted joy, laughter, and love. He loved his wife and children with all his heart. His family was his world and everyone’s well being was always put ahead of his own. Steve also had a passion for clocks. He loved them like his antique cars, spending countless hours restoring and fine tuning them, giving him a lifetime of enjoyment. Steve loved his Harley too and he and Ruth took many long trips in the saddle. Steve has left a void in everyone’s heart that will not easily be filled by anyone else. He will never be forgotten. Steve is survived by his loving wife Ruth and children Brian and Bob, his mother and father, Henk and Yvonne, and sisters Bianca (Adrian), Jolanda (Ken) and Trish (Keith). He will be sadly missed by his family and his wife’s family Marge (Mom and Joe. dec), sisters Audrey (Mike), Jenny (Allan), Maryanne and his extended family Leo, Betty (Tim), Susan (Ross), and Bob and numerous other family and friends. A Tribute to Steve was held March 22nd at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Cremation followed.
