    Schoenfeld – Eldon John Schoenfeld of Rosemary passed away peacefully at the Brooks Health Centre on November 5th, 2008 at the age of 64 years. Born in Kitchener, Ontario on December 11th, 1943 he received his education in Galt, Ontario. Eldon married Heather McDougal in 1962 and together they had two daughters, Debbie and Nancy. He moved to Alberta in 1969 with his two girls and met the love of his life, Kayneta Sorensen. They moved first to Rosemary and then to Gem where they welcomed another daughter, Mia into the family. The family eventually returned to Rosemary where Eldon and Kay resided until his death. Eldon was a very hard worker and his work experience varied widely including factory work, general labor, and car sales. In 1977 he went to work for the County of Newell where he worked for close to 30 years as a grader operator. He took immense pride in keeping the county roads safe and in optimal driving condition. Eldon was a wonderful husband and father and always put his family first. He was predeceased by his father Eldon Robert Schoenfeld, mother Marion Schoenfeld, father-in-law Delyle Sorensen, mother-in-law Leone Sorensen, brothers-in-law Frank Austin, Kevin Sorensen and Mel Brodie, nieces Laurie Brodie and Kara Reid and nephew Weston Reid. Eldon will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife of nearly 40 years, Kayneta Schoenfeld; daughters Debbie Bellavance of Medicine Hat, Nancy Lassiter (Kent) of Bassano and Mia Schoenfeld of Brooks; son-in-law Harry Clarke of Rosemary; sisters Barb Thurber (Barrie) of Medicine Hat and Linda Rawn (Del) of Rosemary; sisters-in law Lyla Reid (Pat) of Sherwood Park and Noni Rolfson (Richard) of Rosemary; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 10th, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rosemary. Bishop Richard Hall officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Murray McLaughlin, Larry Seitz, Danny Bartman, Keith Bartlett, Don Avery, Ken Madill and all other County of Newell co-workers. Active Pallbearers were Carl Kern, Daryl Morishita, Victor Bergen, Harry Clarke, Kent Lassiter and Gary Harder. Interment followed at Rosemary Cemetery.
