Ralph Walter Schnieder
March 24, 1952 – March 4, 2021
Ralph Schnieder, loving husband, father, son, grandfather, friend and businessman passed away peacefully at the age of 68 years. Ralph was born and raised in Brooks, Alberta. His life long passion for sports began at a young age. Known to many as Bulldog and Hoover, Ralph thrived at the hockey rink and on the fastball field. He completed his business education at SAIT. Ralph and Patty were married in 1974 and welcomed their children, Jason and Stephanie. Even though he enjoyed owning Plaza Sports, his true passion was in agriculture, developing a respected expertise in leafcutter bees. Ralph was fiercely proud and protective of his family. He was fun loving and always generous. He met every opportunity with a strong work ethic. He had a respectful way of teaching others. Travelling was a joy for both Ralph and Patty. His greatest blessings were watching his grandsons play sports, learn to ride a bike, catch their first fish, float the river, ski Big Mountain, play 18 holes and travel together to sunny destinations. He was predeceased by his mother Margaret (Jack) Dench, brother Don Schnieder, step mother Francie Schnieder, father-in-law John (Esther) Wittig, mother-in-law Mary (Paul) Fruit.
Ralph is loving cherished and remembered by his wife Patty, son Jason (Sam/Cheryl Griffin), daughter Stephanie (Mike) Hauck, grandsons Brandon and Zachery Hauck, father Walter Schnieder, sister Bev Tedford, half brother Cory (Jane) Schnieder, brothers-in-law Rod (Jan) Wittig and Eric (Kathleen) Wittig, sister-in-law Sharon (Paul) Dyck, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Bob and Arlene Utsurogi.
