SCHNEIDER – Richard (Rick) Darren Schneider of Duchess passed away peacefully with his family at his side on October 11th, 2013 in Duchess at the age of 47. Born in Brooks and raised in South Bantry District on the family farm, Rick was involved with many sports that he was extremely passionate about. They include baseball, long distance running, volleyball, hockey, and golf, just to list a few. After a short venture playing volleyball at Medicine Hat College, Rick hit the drilling rigs, where after a short while… he became a driller. Rick met the love of his life and best friend, Natalie, who he married in the fall of 1993, and they had a beautiful life together. Rick’s family was the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Rick’s kind-spirit, passion, love for his family, and zest for life, will live on through them. He is survived by his loving wife Natalie, son Andrew, daughter Emerald (Tyrel Kenmore) and grandsons Theodore and Sullivan, father and mother Garry and Delores Schneider, sister Shelley (Shawn Green), nephews Derek and Ryan, brother Mike, nephew Jordan, niece Julia, father and mother in-law Gerald and Betty Sanders, sister-in-law Dawn Sanders (Forrest Scharf), nephew Matthew (Michaela Smith), niece Edan, nephew Elias, brother-in-law Skip Sanders, nephew Mitchell and niece Ciara. He was predeceased by his loving nephew Levi Smith, his grandpa Lloyd Dunn and his grandma Erna Schneider. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests contributions are made to support the purchase of a memorial bench at the Duchess Golf Course in Rick’s memory.
