SANDUM – Gordon Sandum, beloved husband of the late Helen Sandum, passed away on March 28, 2008 at the age of 73 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gordon will be greatly missed by his children; Donna (Darryl) and Alvin (Kim) and his grandchildren; Jennifer, Jason, Justin, Ciara and Wacy.
Gordon was born in Bassano on February 24, 1935. He grew up in the Duck Lake area, attending school at the small rural schools. He married Helen on June 25, 1959 and they continued to live and farm in the Duck Lake area.
Gordon enjoyed hunting, fishing, curling and watching his grandkids play hockey. He was a great supporter of the 4-H Beef club in Hussar and never missed a sale. He was a wise, caring man who was a farmer in the truest sense of the word. He cared about his land and his livestock. He had a wonderful sense of humour and loved reminiscing about the old times with friends and family. His family meant the world to him and they always came first.
Funeral Services will be held on April 3, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hussar Hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Hussar Cemetery. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel entrusted with the arrangements. (403) 823-2666.
