Salonka – Rosemarie Salonka of Brooks passed away in Brooks on March 22, 2014 at the age of 92 years. She was born in Bonn, East Germany on July 19, 1921 and later moved to Scotland where she met and married Ivan Salonka in 1950. They then came to Canada along with Rosemarie’s mother and sister. Rosemarie enjoyed playing the violin, crocheting and gardening. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs and cats. She was predeceased by her husband Ivan in 1976 and her daughter, Theresa Mengershausen, in July of 2013. She is survived by her loving family: sons Michael and his wife Sally, Nick and his wife Vionne, and son-in-law Gary Mengershausen. She is also survived by five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services were held on Friday, March 28th at 11.00 a.m. at Thom’s Funeral Home and Reception Centre.
