Rosdal – Halvar Rosdal of Brooks passed away in Brooks on May 23rd, 2009 at the age of 92 years. Born in Robsart, Saskatchewan on January 27th, 1917 Halvar received his education at Clover Valley School in Robsart. He moved to Bawlf, Alberta in 1938 then to Rolling Hills in 1939 where he farmed until retiring to Brooks in November, 2002. Halvar was a Charter Member of Faith Lutheran Church, Rolling Hills, member of the Rolling Hills Curling Club and a Board Member of the Scandia Museum. He will be remembered for his faith, sense of humour, generosity, story telling, being a good friend. Halvar loved his family, friends, photography and hunting. He was predeceased by his parents Axel and Emelia, 2 brothers Trygve and Clarence, sister Ilene Bengtson and a brother-in-law Clarence Bengtson. Halvar is survived by his loving family, sister Evelyn Marzolf and her husband Archie of Edmonton and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 2:00 PM from Rolling Hills Community Centre. Rev. John Theiss officiating. Interment to follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
