Romuld – Cheryl Lynne Romuld of Brooks, beloved wife of Duane Romuld, passed away in Brooks on November 25th, 2024, at the age of 66 years. Born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan on March 18th, 1958, to William Cyril and Ruby Beth Stewart, she began her education in Rosetown, before graduating in Brooks, in 1974. Cheryl married the love of her life Duane Romuld in June of 1977 and built a family and a life here. She spent several years stitching together her daughter’s figure skating attire and patching up her son’s scrapes and bruises. Cheryl held a number of roles over the years including, managing the Elks Club Lounge, working at Charter Ford and Harvey’s Plumbing. Cheryl was a force of nature. There was nothing she couldn’t do, if she put her mind to it. Never one to just sit at home, she and Duane travelled across Canada, when he was Grand Exalted Ruler of Canada, numerous vacations and always looking for the next great adventure. She loved taking day trips to events, productions, concerts and shows. Cheryl spent time volunteering at community events, telling stories, and laughing. She became a highly sought out seamstress in her retirement, always having a project on the go. It is perhaps the role of grandma that she cherished the most. She loved spoiling her grandkids and breaking all the rules she had for herself as a parent. We’ll miss her infectious laugh, her sense of humor, how she brought people together and treated everyone as if they were her own. Cheryl is survived by her husband Duane; son Darrell (Sarah); daughter Kelly (Nathan) Sanford; grandsons, Alexander, Lucas, Hunter and Mattéo; granddaughter Aria; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Walt) Piper and Carol (Rob) Baksa; brothers-in-law, Mark (Tracy), Keith (Maggie), Doug (Deb), and Ralph, and their families, along with cousins, Dennis and Garry (Glenda) Franklin; aunt Gertrude (Don) Stewart and family and a number of nieces, nephews and countless friends. Cheryl is predeceased by her parents William Cyril and Ruby. Memorial donations, in her memory, can be made directly to, Mighty Little Elk Project, 15 Ekota Cres NW, Edmonton, AB T6K 2J6. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28th at 2:00 PM from the Heritage Inn and Convention Centre, Brooks.
