Jean-Marie was born on July 12th, 1957 in St. Paul, Alberta and grew up on a close by farm in Lafond. He went to school in Lafond and graduated from high school in St. Paul. Jean then pursued cooking attaining a certificate in cooking and took pride in his air cadets training, his piano playing, driving, and his famous pineapple chicken. Despite facing many challenges and hardships in his lifetime, he was ever optimistic and a shining light in the darkness often expressed in this world. Jean was a champion of humanity, treating all people with kindness and respect. He loved his life on the farm. He took pride in milking cows, gardening, and cooking. Jean loved his eight siblings dearly and had so much love for his parents, his faith, and friends. He was always the life of a party, as a lover of music and dancing. People loved and respected him, those who knew him while he was working at Safeway would remember how kindhearted he was and how enthusiastic he was to help. Jean appreciated the simplest of things in life and was always willing to share a smile, a conversation, and a laugh. His final words to his nephews were “Toute, Toute”.
