Riddell – Michael Shannon Riddell passed away at his residence in the Duchess area on January 22nd, 2005 at the age of 49 years. Mike was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on January 4th, 1956 and moved to Regina with his family where they lived until his father’s death in 1969. Mike and his mother, two brothers and two sisters moved to Medicine Hat and resided there until his mom remarried and the family came to Brooks. They later moved to the North Duchess area where Mike spent the last 28 years. He enjoyed his acreage, the rural life style, cattle and horses. Mike will be best remembered for his love and compassion of people and for always being willing to help. He was predeceased by his dad, grandparents Everett and Georgina Riddell and Everett (Bus) Johnson; Uncle Ken Riddell and Aunt Shirley Meier. He is survived by his loving family, his mom and step dad Francie and Walter Schnieder of Redcliff; 3 brothers Jeff (Ruth) Riddell of Gem, Rob (Jenn) Riddell of Medicine Hat and Cory (Jane) Schnieder of Duchess; 2 sisters Caroll (Barry) Wilson of Brooks and Jill Riddell of Melville, Saskatchewan; Mike’s Grandmother Glady Johnson of Maple Creek; 2 step brothers Ralph (Patty) Schnieder of Brooks and Don Schnieder of Medicine Hat; step sister Bev Tedford of Duchess and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, January 27th from Smith Memorial Chapel, Brooks. Rev. John Theiss officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Mike’s friends and neighbors.
