    Renn – Violet Louise Renn (nee Gieck) was born March 2, 1926 in Grainger, AB to John and Lydia Gieck.  She passed away on April 6, 2020 at Sunrise Gardens in Brooks, AB.  She married Harry Renn on March 15, 1945 and they resided in Drumheller, AB., before moving to Brooks in 1958.  Violet will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Barry (Pat) and Errol (Marlene); granddaughter Laurie Morgan (her family Ritchie, Alex, Emily and Dana); grandson Fred (Nhan Ngo) and extended family Shantel Richard (sons Xaiden and Dallas), Stephanie Recnik (daughter Zahra), Kimberly Evison; sister-in-law and good friend Lorraiane Renn of Drumheller and numerous nieces and nephews.  Vi was predeceased by her parents, husband Harry, sisters Lily Fox of Carbon and Gertie Grose of Medicine Hat and several half brothers and sisters.  Upon moving to Brooks, Vi worked for Alberta Trunkline cleaning, then the Betty Dress Shop, until she and Harry managed the club house and pro shop at the Brooks Golf Club for many years until they retired.  She catered to many golf tournament and was famous for her burgers and raised doughnuts.  Vi was a member of the Brooks United Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir until she got too busy with the golf course.  She loved to work in her flower gardens, play scrabble and golf when they went south in the winter.  The family would like to thank the staff of Sunrise Gardens for the excellent care she received while she was there. There will be a private grave side funeral with family.  In memory of Vi, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Brooks and District Health Foundation, Bag 300 Brooks, AB   T1R 1B3.
