POTIUK – Roselyn Dell Potiuk, of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Vernon Potiuk, passed away in Calgary at Peter Lougheed Centre on January 21, 2018 at the age of 68. Roselyn received her education at Kinneburgh School near Grassy Lake and Brooks and afterwards Roselyn moved to Taber. Roselyn met Vern while residing in Taber and they were married June 24, 1967. Their daughter Bonny was born in Taber and shortly after the family moved to Bassano where John was born. In 1973 they relocated to Brooks where they lived, worked and raised their children. Roselyn was a hard worker and in 1995 she moved to Calgary where she was employed with Kal Tire, she sold corn and was a partner in Extreme Pita. Roselyn move back to Brooks in 2005 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to Roselyn and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She loved to attend all their events and was their number one fan!! She also spent hours every night “yit yatting” on the phone with her siblings and father who all meant so much to her. In 2012 Roselyn was the recipient of a single lung transplant which enabled her in 2015 to make the trip of a lifetime to Hawaii with her family and it was one of the great highlights of her life. She enjoyed watching Oak Island and Gold Rush on television and spending time with grandkids, crocheting and crafting. Roselyn was a wonderful cook and made the most amazing cabbage rolls and perogies. She had collected many things including Barbie’s, Beanies and salt and pepper shakers. She enjoyed camping, fishing and had a fondness for butterflies. Roselyn was predeceased by her husband Vern (1992), her mother Connie and sister Carolyn. She is survived by her loving family; son, John and his wife Kelly of Brooks and their children Brooke and Rylee; daughter Bonny and her husband Cory of Duchess and their children Spencer (Kayleigh) and Chandra; father Walter Sanderson(Nadene); siblings, Linda Schroeder (Herb), Marilyn Smith(Leo, pre-deceased), Betty Martyn(Geoff), Robert Sanderson(Gloria), Wayne Sanderson(Bev), Gerry Sanderson(Deb), Geri Mccafferty(John) and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and an abundance of friends. A Celebration of Roselyn’s life was held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 29 at the Duchess Community Hall, Pastor Mike Boschmann officiated.
