    PHILBERT – Edwin- Mr. Edwin Philbert, beloved husband of Mrs. Marjorie Philbert of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, March 19th, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Edwin also leaves to cherish his memory one son, Larry (Nora): three daughters, Gloria (Ken), Barb (Larry) and Pam (Perry); six grandchildren, Troy (Cristina), Crystal (Jason), Dionne (Kenneth), Sarah (Brian), Tanner and Keily; eight great grandchildren, Nikita, Ryder, Taylor, Hailey, Victoria, Hannah, Noah and Cassie; and one sister, Rachel Phillipson. Edwin was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Natalie Filbert; and one sister, Ruth Hirsch. Edwin was born on March 11th, 1922 in Burstall, Saskatchewan and was baptized on February 4th, 1923 by Reverend H. Bietch at Peace Lutheran Church. He married Marjorie Scott on July 15th, 1947 in Empress. Edwin began his career with the CPR in Empress; after several transfers, which took him to Mendham, Hilda, Burstall and finally Medicine Hat, he retired at the age of sixty. His hobbies included: golfing, bowling, curling and fishing. Edwin was very active in his church. The Funeral Service was held in ST. PETER LUTHERAN CHURCH, 758 – 8th Street SE, on Tuesday, March 21st, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Julianna Wehrfritz-Hanson officiating. Interment followed in the Family Plot at Hillside Cemetery.
