Darlene Petersen was born in Edmonton on May 21, 1943 and sadly passed on October 25, 2016. She was 73 years old. Darlene was predeceased by her husband Arthur (Art), and her parents Jack and Inza Irving. She is survived by her two sons Shayne (Karen) and Lance (Tara); 5 grandchildren: Trent, Paige (Delaine), Carlee, Mitch and Joelle.
Darlene grew up living in train stations, as her father was a Station Agent for the CPR, living all over Alberta. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and then met Art. In 1970, Darlene and Art moved from Brooks to Claresholm and owned Art’s Mens Wear for over 30 years. Darlene loved trains and camping but most of all her family and friends.
…Life is like a train ride. We get on. We ride. We get off. We get back on and ride some more. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops there are surprises. Some of these will translate into great moments of joy; and some will result in profound sorrow.
At Darlene’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Darlene may be sent to Prairie Winds Clubhouse (P.O. Box 1354, Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0).
