It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. Edith passed away peacefully at her home in Brooks, on July 28th, 2013 at the age of 64 years. Born in Cormack, NL on November 11th, 1948 Edith received her education in Deer Lake NL. After her graduation from high school she moved on to nursing school at The Grace Hospital in St. John’s NL. She loved nursing. Unfortunately about 7 years after receiving her R.N., she became very ill and was unable to continue nursing and this devastated her. Edith’s calling was to help people. In 1989 she met the love her life, Wilfred. They were married in 1992 and shared a joyous, fun filled life together until his passing in 2008. Edith is survived by her devoted daughter, Tania Kettles and her husband Kyle and their boys, Justin and Ryan all of Brooks; her loving son Todd and his wife Sharon and their son Finn all of Okotoks; 1 sister Marilyn of Kingston, Ontario; 2 brothers Harold and his wife Sandra of Gander, N.L. and David and his wife Debi of Markham, Ontario. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 2nd at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ken Wells officiated. Edith’s Honorary Pallbearers were her grandsons Ryan Kettles, Justin Vandenbilche and Finn Martin.
