Osadczuk – Joann Lydia Osadczuk of Brooks, passed away on October 1, 2024, in Medicine Hat, from pneumonia, with her loving husband Jack, son Jim and daughter Janice by her side. Joann was born on March 7, 1944, in Brooks to Ester and George Hansen. She attended school in Brooks, until she found and married the love of her life, Jack Osadczuk on April 8, 1961. Jack and Joann made Iddesleigh their home for the first few years, until they bought their first chunk of land south of Jenner. They farmed and ranched for almost 60 years, before they semiretired and moved to an acreage just outside Brooks, where they currently reside. Joann was a hard worker all her life and wasn’t afraid of a new challenge! Her skill set ranged from planting to harvest, calving to weaning, as well as being a wife and mother. Joann gave birth to their son Jim on September 28, 1961, followed by their daughter on July 7, 1963. Joann and Jack shared work, love and play including the only married couple to be in 4-H showing calves. She was actively involved in or with any community function and lent a helping hand to whatever or whomever needed her. Joann and Jack were avid curlers and better bonspielers, winning their share. They traveled the world all their lives. They made it to every destination that they planned except Australia and New Zealand, before age made that too large of a task. Their second home was in Maricopa, Arizona, where they wintered a number of years. Joann is survived by her husband Jack; son Jim and family; daughter Janice and family, and last but not least, her baby Trixie and grand dogs Sassy, Cali, and Romeo. She cherished numerous nieces and nephews, close friends, in-laws and outlaws, and people that are more family than friends! Joann was predeceased by her father George Hansen, mother Ester Christman, stepfather Clifford Christman, brother Bill Hansen, mother-in-law Mary Osadczuk, father-in-law Mike Osadczuk and great-granddaughter Emma Hoffman. Funeral services will be held at the Iddesleigh Cemetery at 11:00 am on Friday October 11, 2024 with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Jenner Hockey Arena. Rev. John Theiss officiating.
