    OCHIKAWA It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Archie Ochikawa announce his passing in Brooks, Alberta on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 at the age of 69 years. He is predeceased by his parents, one brother, survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.  Archie was born in Kagoshima, Japan on January 5, 1949.  In 1971, he came to Canada through an agricultural opportunity with Kagoshima Immigration.  Archie began his lifelong career in the oil and gas industry in Brooks.  He worked with Doug’s Vacuum Truck Services for 38 years, until his passing. In 2004, Archie married his best friend Denise.  The two were avid chuckwagon fans.  For 15 years they followed the WPCA circuit, golfing by day and cheering for their favourite drivers by night.  On top of his love for the outdoors and camping, Archie had an incredible green thumb and was so proud of his yard.  Archie was also famous for his Christmas light display.  Countless vehicles would drive be every night in December, which put a huge smile on his face.  Archie will be dearly missed by his children Tracy (Lonny) Finkbeiner, Mitch Ochikawa, Josh (Kyla) Ochikawa, and stepchildren Stacey (Dwight) Pahl, Pam Nowaczyk, and Colin (Stephanie) Nowaczyk.  “Papa” will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren Kaylin, Telysa, Ronan, Kaydence and Jenna. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13th at 2:00 PM from Trinity Lutheran Church.  Rev. John Theiss officiating.  Luncheon to follow at the Trinity Lutheran Church.  In memory of Archie, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to Brooks and District Health Foundation for Palliative Care, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta   T1R 1B3.
