MUSGROVE – We are sad to announce the passing of Norman Musgrove from Patricia, Alberta who peacefully passed away at the age of 89 in Brooks, Alberta on Oct 18, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Norman was born to Elmer and Flora (McKellar) Musgrove on May 19, 1935 in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Norman grew up on the family farm near Jenner Alberta and lived there until September 1st, 1945, when the CFB Suffield base expanded to include much of their family farm. The family moved to Patricia, Alberta where they bought land and continued to farm until present day.
Norman married Sheila Neely on March 25, 1961 and enjoyed 63 years of life together. That year they purchased the Carl Schaffer place in which Sheila still resides today. Hereford cattle were the breed of choice for Norman, where in 1978, he started his purebred herd and raised them ever since. Norman continued toexpand the family farm over the next 50 years adding land in Patricia and Halkirk, Alberta. Norman loved his family, cows, horses and dogs and enjoyed nothing more than to take his dog and go work cows.
Norman was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Flora, and siblings Jim, Tom, Bill, and Doris. He is survived by his wife Sheila, sister Florence Musgrove, and his children Bruce (Julie), Glenn (Maureen), Grant (Judy) and Chet (Barb), as well as grandchildren Kyle, Joel, Reid; Evan, Kelsey, Jenna, Lauren; Abby, Bailey, Ray, Tate; Carter and Amberly. He will be dearly missed. Celebration of life was held on October 28th at the Patricia hall officiated by Pastors John and Maggie Theiss.
Family interment was held at the Patricia Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Norman’s life to a charity of choice.
