    The family of Wayne Murray is saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the age of 53 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patty and his son Ethan; his parents Diane and Donald and his brother, Don (Jennifer), as well as numerous relatives and friends. Wayne lived an eventful and vibrant life that touch the hearts of all those who know him. He was born in Brooks, Alberta where he spent formative years playing basketball, fishing, hunting and getting into mischief with his close-knit group of friends. In 1990, Wayne left university and returned to work alongside his father, D.H. selling farm equipment. He quickly discovered a talent for sales and was recruited by Dayco in 1995, where he moved to Calgary and met his wife. The couple married in 1997 and two years later welcomed their son to the family home in Airdrie where Wayne took a break to focus on raising his young son. In 2001, Wayne returned to sales, joining the team at BBL, where he sold drill bits. It was a career that would become his lifelong passion, taking him to Weatherfold and ultimately to Smith Bits a Schlumberger Company. Wayne worked for Smith Bits for nearly 18 years, where he developed a reputation as highly skilled and respected sales professional. Wayne was a social butterfly who loved spending time with his clients and friends. His warm and outgoing personality made him a beloved figure in their lives. He was an avid sports fan, and he rarely missed a game. He enjoyed watching games from home or form the stand and was always eager to cheer Ethan in his various sports. His legacy will continue through countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and infectious spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A Celebration of Life will be held at Delta Downtown, 209 4 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0C6 on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
