LELEK – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Susan Elizabeth Lelek (Cooper) announces her peaceful passing at the age of 85 on October 4, 2024, surrounded by her three children. Susan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her kindness, humor, and warm spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Susan is lovingly remembered by her family. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, John; her father, Trevor Cooper; her mother, Billie Cooper; and her brother, Tony. She leaves behind her sister, Gay, and her three cherished children: Shawn, Kim (Walter), and Tracy (Adam). Her legacy continues through her four grandsons: Tason, Ty, Nolan, and Brayden (Lacey), and her great-grandson, Lathom.
Susan took immense pride in her family, finding great joy in watching them grow and thrive through life’s ups and downs. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, always sharing her wisdom, laughter, and love. A devoted supporter of her grandsons, Susan could often be found cheering them on at rodeos and hockey games. She also cherished her visits back to England, where she would reminisce and laugh with her brother Tony and her sister Gay.
Susan’s warmth, dedication to her family, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A small, intimate service was held to honor Susan’s life on October 11, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta’s Children’s Hospital Foundation, in honor of Susan’s lifelong commitment to supporting children in need.
