Karin Juergensen, 83
It is with sadness that the family of Karin Juergensen announce her passing after a brief illness on Monday, March 1, 2021 in Salmon Arm, BC.
Karin (Mom) grew up in Northern Germany, where she attended Danish school. At the age of 22 she immigrated to Canada, and shortly after married John. Karin and John eventually settled in the Brooks area to raise their young family. Karin loved spending time outdoors growing a garden, cultivating flowers, and making jams and jellies from the berries she picked, including berries from pin cushion cacti which she swore would never be repeated! Her love of flowers continued with her work at Floral Flair. She also became proficient at managing books for John’s construction company as well as the family farm.
Karin and John moved to the Shuswap area in BC in 2005. Early on, Karin would walk her 2 cocker spaniels in the hillside community, meeting neighbors who would become devoted friends. Her love of hiking was evident during her recent trips to Arizona where she could navigate technical trails at a pace where people decades her junior would struggle to keep stride.
Karin will be missed and forever remembered by her children, Brent and Renee (KC) and her 4 grandchildren, Kristyn, Madelyn, Mark and Joel. Karin was predeceased by her husband John in 2017.
May those who were touched by Karin’s good nature continue to pass along the same to others around them.
