Marion Marianne Janz
May 18th, 1949 – March 8th, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marianne Janz (nee Schimmel). She passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2022.
Marianne leaves to mourn, her son Jared Hotel of High River. Siblings Bep Hamer; Martin (Rae) Schimmel; John (Betty) Schimmel, Anne Ward Neville (Tim); Jeannette Loyer Schimmel (Pat); Jack (Phyllis) Schimmel; Tony (Pam) Schimmel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Marianne was owner/ operator of bakeries in Fort Macleod, Alberta, Brooks, Alberta and Cranbrook, British Columbia through the 70’s and 80’s. After leaving Brooks, she moved to High River and became the “Cookie Lady” as she prepared many a culinary delight for friends, family or simply a person that needed cheering up.
Her greatest joy in life was raising her son Jared and their dog Buttons, along with serving her Lord and Savior. Marianne was blessed with many Christian friends whom she was so very grateful to have had in her life.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 2:00pm at Snodgrass Funeral Home in High River. Attendance will be limited to family and very close friends.
